I don't think we are in too bad a shape expenditure wise. About half goes to social security but go to any country that does not have social security and see if that's how you want to live. On the smaller Gov front we are comparatively lean. As shown yet again this week by the Banks IMO focus needs to be on tax avoidance/minimization and outright criminality. All these discussions are now much harder since the scare language of the last election, tax reform and addressing loopholes is now somehow phrases as a tax increase ?????
