It's interesting that the big tax refunds everyone was supposed to get didn't materialise because at the same time ATO launched a campaign to clampdown on individuals deductions. People were scared into putting lower (I.e correct) deductions on their 2019 returns & therefore got lower refunds.
The result of which is the economy didn't get a boost at all from increased spending,
