I just spoke with the director and just wanted to pass on a few points he made to me (I am a journalist):
1. He had already taken up 1.5 million shares in the 4c rights issue so had already assumed the risk months ago.
2. The shares were sold to pay tax.
3. He was not allowed to take up further stock in the shortfall.
4. He made the point that directors should be able to sell shares.
