Howard really needs to take an immediate well-earned retirement and hand over to Costello - or the Liberals are stuffed. My take on Costello is that he is more pragmatic than Howard, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him soften the IR issues. Very capable leader...he'd do us well.
