theres a shortfall of 32,000 troops in your argument as to how intense was their commitment.

Secondly , the us was requested to send troops to aid in the conflict. The request was for 100 divisions, as the allies were outnumbered and in the words of General Foch............"there is a great danger of the war being lost unless the numerical inferiority of the allies can be remedied as rapidly as possible by thew advent of American Troops."

the request was signed off by Clemenceau, LLoyd George and Orlando....

6 months later, an Armistice was called...
