I'm surprised politicians carry out as many election promises as they do, with the shifting sands of the world economy etc. I don't have a problem with Elmer Rudd but he hasn't been around long enough to show his colours - not to mention those who would be in the government with him. Just remember how close we came to Mark Latham getting in as leader of this country - now how scarey is that!!!! And I don't think the Federal Labour bench has changed that much.
I see Howard as a rather stable hand on the tiller of this country and I like that.
