It is worrisome that there are a lot of people who don't understand or don't want to understand what in the economy is attributable to John Howard & his policies.
The world has enjoyed reduced prices in many things cortesy of China etc, the world has also enjoyed lower interest rates but Australias although lower has been consistently higher than most developed countries.
The growth of China & India continues to fuel our resources & employment sectors.
Any reasonable thinking person would have to realise that these happenings are in no way attributable to any potitical party in Australia. If these factors were taken out of the equation our economy would be in a vastly different position. No matter how many times John Howard lies & tries to take the bulk of the credit for how well some parts of the economy have done, it would have happened if Mr Bean was running the country.
In short if Howards greatest claim is the economy then he really doesn't have much to be proud of at all, except for being the biggest taxing Government in our history, most of it derived from lower & middle classes.
