Blind freddy can at least see a suspicious basis for the accusations having been made against Pell and all Howard has come is come out and make a personal judgement of a "friend"; Ask yourself why it has taken the person making the accusations so long to come forth and why they refuse to have a Police Investigation? On the surface it looks like a personal Dig on Pell and more insidiously a further more deep-rooted dig on the Catholic Church. I think the basis of this was the arrogant public face Pell put on the whole issue of past church wrongs and his cover-up on the concept of "hush-money" having been paid. Off course it may be as simple as someone having seen easy-money flash before their eyes? Off course all of the above is pure speculation and regardless there should be proper investigation, however the story just remains too convenient and timely and where are the corroborating stories from others since abuse is rarely singular but more habitual.

NB: I am not a supporter of formal Religious Organizations of any type let alone of the Hippocratic Catholic church.
