Your wrong mate... economically Paul Keating and Bob Hawk did more for Australia...floated the dollar, wage restrain "The Accord" which essentially is something similar to the current"Work Choices"...pegging wage growth (low inflation) and spent up on education.
Howard has dropped the ball on innovation particularly in renewable energy "Look what Germany has done". Education..has becoming so expensive..have you seen how much it costs do a grad dip or a degree. And TAFE (trades..real skills) system is so underfunded. China realises where its economy is going and spending truck load on education.
The guy has no vision for Australia..incredibly conservative, in a world that is changing rapidly...climate, aging population and technology. Many can argue that he has been good for business, however he has ridden on emerging markets need for resources..nothing more...but he did stuff up on skills. Australia could have been a world leader in renewable energy..gosh we have enough of it...but Howard plays on Clean Coal...an oxymoron if I have ever heard of one. And then there was the tax cut last year, against RBA recommendation..and now we are paying for it.
The guy has played on racism and tourism to get him through the previous elections...I am not sure what's up Howard's sleeve this election, but the war on terror (Foreign Policy stuff up) is going to run thin.
