Prime Minister John Howard said he was not willing to declare Iraq's weapons of mass destruction would not be found.
... because he doesn't want to look like a wacker for having bought Bush's lies in the first place and gotten a lot of innocent kids killed.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair said he accepted Iraq's weapons of mass destruction may never be found, but Mr Howard was more cautious.

"We will just examine the next report of the Iraq survey group before we say anything of that kind," Mr Howard said.

"We don't just automatically follow something that may be said by either the American or the British government.

"We believe Iraq had weapons of mass destruction based on the intelligence, and nothing has happened since which has altered the fact that we have strong intelligence that built a very powerful circumstantial case.

"But as to conclusions about what has been found, I will wait until I get the product of the Iraq survey group."

Mr Blair admitted to a British parliamentary committee the weapons may never be found.

"We know Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction but we know we haven't found them," Mr Blair said.
