cerhob, the interest rate viewed on its own is meaningless. It needs to be related to what the housing affordability was at the time. At the present time, even though interest rates may be lower than they were at times during Labor's reign, the burden on the home mortgagor is much greater because their level of repayments is much higher. This is what really matters and this is why the battlers are revolting when Johnny says "you've never had it so good". Tell it to the marines!!!
