Getting paid in options or shares doesn't cost the company anything apart of a minor dilution.
The salary package details were agreed on before the IPO.The team gets paid according to what they are hired for and they have delivered.
The sp should reflect the progress but it doesn't atm.
ATM the market doesn't care about the achievements and sold the whole bio sector down. Only a few that got FDA approvals or recommendations and are ready to be taken to the market may have escaped the carnage.
If you would work for BHP and despite record profits the sp got hammered would you accept a pay cut? That's what you are demanding.

What did Hopper to you that you put so much effort in trying to bring his companies down? Aren't you satisfied enough that the sp are already down? If you want them to fail, why not taking them on in a class action?
