R. Stanley Williams from HP Labs has been working on neuromorphic tech since the mid/late 90's. I went down the memristor rabbit hole years ago. If I remember right it was his team that came up with the idea for a cross bar array using a memristor switch at each cross point.
Sean may have been aware of neuromorphic computing long before he heard of BRN.
Lucky for him, he is now the CEO of the first company with commercially available neuromorphic chips & IP.
