Does anyone have information on how instos who manage several funds behave
with respect to one fund borrowing a share from another fund managed by the same insto, short selling the share and later buying back the share and returning
it to the original fund.
Can such a behaviour occur within an institution without, prema facia, a conflict of interest? Would this be like the US Merchant Banks CDO debarkle where they parceled up dodgy mortgages, sold them and then shorted them.?
