hrt 4 wells offshore namibia

  1. 310 Posts.
    Good morning!

    I allready mentioned it here

    http://www.hotcopper.com.au/post_single.asp?fid=1&tid=1875923&msgid=10945056

that exciting times ahead not only offshore Kenya but also offshore Namibia, due to the fact that HRT will be drilling 4 wells in their licences offshore Namibia.

As far as I know they plan to drill three in the Orange Basin around Kudu gasfield and one in Walvis Basin, just next to "our" licence.

Here you may take a look: http://ri.hrt.com.br/hrt/web/arquivos/HRT_Institutional%20Presentation_2012.pdf

The presentation about Africa is starting on page 16. On page 19 you can see the four fields (in pink) HRT aquired 3D-seismic of and will (probably definitely) drill their wells (logically).

I recently phoned with the investor relations of ECO (Atlantic) Oil & Gas, one of our nearby neighbours offshore Namibia.

She mentioned that HRT is going to drill the first exploration well in the Walvis Basin to continue in the Orange Basin, which would be perfect for us and doubling the excitment in the first half of 2013.

So far so good, allready told.

I searched around and finally came across the name of the rig HRT contracted: Transocean Marianas

Here are some information about the rig: http://www.deepwater.com/fw/main/Transocean-Marianas-77C77.html?LayoutID=17

Its present status is drilling for ENI offshore Ghana till December 2012.

Afterwards it will be drilling for HRT offshore Namibia from January till October 2013.

Here one can see the present position: http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/de/default.aspx?oldmmsi=538002209&zoom=6&olddate=lastknown#

It's worth to check this link from time to time to see, if the rig is moving towards Namibia!

Due to the fact that Ghana lies north of Namibia I bet that they are not going down till Orange Basin to start drilling there, instead they will (as ECO's IR mentioned) stop in Walvis Basin to drill one well there in the direct neighbourhood to PCL(!) and then continue to Orange Basin.

Therefore: Exciting times ahead for PCL holders in South-East- and South-West-Africa in the first half year of 2013.

Cheers and have a good day,
    Neo (from Germany)

Sorry for the inconvenience with the links, but so far I couldn't find out how to embed them "clickable".
