Shorts are so negligible they are barely worth mentioning. In any case, it is a macro short I think, gold has hit ATH after ATH for a while now, usually there is a correction/cool-off period. Some funds also typically go long and short to mitigate risk - so a shorter here could be happily long, just willing to make some cash on the way as well and be ok with having to buy them back even if it might be at a premium.
