    I guess it may have been just a localised administrative issue at a specific branch otherwise people would be storming the banks barricades lol.

    I was at my local bank branch here and the person ahead of me wanted to withdraw I think it was $10K and the teller declined because they could not hand out that much cash in one go at that time. The back asked them to go back next day when sufficient funds would be available. That of course was a cash transaction.

    As far as accessing funds by electronic transfer most banks have a pre set limit negotiated with you as to how much can be transferred in any one transaction. This is for security reasons to safeguard your funds. My transfer limit per transaction is $25k but I can change that by going through an ID process but until I have completed that, $25k is the max I can transfer from my account in one day.
