My understanding is that the French expedition was the idea or promoted by McNally the current CEO. As a result, if the French expedition is a dud, he will be the last to admit he was wrong. It takes a new CEO as in Wesfarmers re their UK hardware foray. Maybe things will turn in France and UK when there are delays / longer waiting queues for surgery and the public voice their frustrations.
