The fortunes of HTA are well and truly tied up with the world wide development and acceptance of 3G technology. I am looking forward to February 2004 when HTA announces the numbers and report on 2003.

Worldwide, UMTS 3G is gaining acceptance, exponentially - especially in Japan. NTT DoCoMo should be signing up customers at the rate of a million a month, right about now.

3 has finally announced the official launch of 3G services in Hong Kong on 27 January 2004 using the latest NEC 616 phones . RE:

Hopefully, NEC/Motorola come good on their promises with regards to handsets deliveries for 1st quarter 2004. HTA should then have enough handsets to sell to improve its 3G customer base significantly.

I personally believe the designs and supply of adequate 3G handsets should improve dramatically by mid 2004.

Right now. the Australian share market is still pricing HTA like a company with the infrastructure but with limited potential for customer growth,

Considering the billion of dollars that will be invested to get HTA where it will be and the potential for 3G, the 28c-30c level substantially undervalued HTA at only $195 million.

In my humble opinion, getting in at the current price level could be the opportunity of a lifetime for small investors that takes the contrarian view - and is prepared to invest in HTA over the longer term.

There is not a lot of sellers at 29c and below. But when HTA finally takes off, be prepared for the ride of your life.
