The article incorrectly states that Rio Tinto owns 36.4% of BCL.
BCl divested its shares to the National Government and the ABG in 2017 at which point they both owned 36.4%. In the National Government's case this included the original 19% (free carry?). The remaining 27.2% was (and still is) held by the public. My understanding is that the National Government was going to hand over the (divested to them by Rio in 2017) 17.4% to the ABG but keep the original 19% for the time being.In any event the ABG would still hold the majority 53.8% and have control of the company.
