I had heard there were inflated prices on drill rigs due to the gold fields, I think. So potentially a supply and demand issue pushing prices up on the exploration, resulting in drilling being pushed back so as not to overspend on something that will (may) be cheaper again soon.
I just had a look at 2 other random non gold exploration companies reports and they both had less on exploration costs.
