I agree with you that Goverenments should start looking at alternative methods. But what we also have to face, is the fact that Gas is only a bandaid solution to our problems, and that we haven't an unlimited amount of reserves to contend with. Hence why IMHO some of the contracts for LNG aren't going for more than 20 or 30 years.
Yes we do have gas, and it will probably last for 20, 30, 50 or even 100 years or more, but what about after that.??
Our future generations will also need power.
As such, I believe that Goverenments of all persuasions will keep their ears and minds open in using alternatives. Like it or lump it, IMO Nuclear plants are such a thing, and I feel sure that at one stage or another they will work out a system that will make it very safe to use. Don't discard it altogether at this stage of the game.
That is all I am saying.
