The estimated revenue from a single Geothermal project as shown in the extract below(taken from their qtr activities report) is truely staggering:
"The 30 MW Sokoria Project
Annual output at 95% availability = 250,000 MWh/annum
Annual revenue at US$125/MWh = US$31.25 million
Project life revenue 30 years = US$937 million
The above illustrates that a relatively small geothermal power project can generate close
to US$1 billion in revenue over its project life. This excludes the benefits of carbon credits,
which can be estimated at an additional US$10/MWh."
It was only as recent as April this year that the SP was around 15 cents. Surely the SP should start to climb back to at least this level to reflect the above and renewed optimism with the Penola project.
