Yes, stlamc, I noticed the transactions yesterday and posted the same question.
Firstly, I don't understand how so many shares could be sold so quickly when there was hardly any sell side, unless there was a seller in the know. I would really like to know who the seller was.
Secondly, why use most of the buy-back capital in one hit (approx. 2.5 million) when you have a year to take your time and pick up millions of shares at bargain prices by $-cost averaging. Also, the share buy-back could have been used to provide share price stability in this way over a year. There are still provisions to buy back about 1.9 million shares so it will be interesting whether they are used in all the share-holders' best interests.
