SO Ive decided to stick with EXT as was my original plan until y'all celebrate baby jesus b-day. I think missing the market reaciton to the conjoining of z1 and z2 would be a shame. That being said...
So if youve been following the Hyperion story (and you should) then it was looking like it wasn't going to drum up much demand for U while eliminating the need for big U munching reactors. Now, for the same price, theyre going to be using much higher enriched fuel to get these things into production asap. Its very impressive but Im not going to try my hand at the math too much cuz Im not sure what the parameters are. However, in most simple terms... They are looking to build 4,000 units (theyve got 122 orders without even a production facility up yet. so lets assume they get there) Initially they were looking at 4% enriched fuel. Roughly 300 kilos per unit (by weight factor seems too low) Im not sure what the conversion factor is but it wasn't looking to be like a big add on.
Hyperion released today the specs and theyre switching to a roughly 19% enriched fuel.
If anybody with the math skills and industry know how wants to take a shot at figuring out the increased U demand 4K of these things would create Im sure everyone would be eternally grateful.
