Rumours of a counter bid pushed shares is lastminute.com higher yesterday, as London’s main equity indices stalled.

While the FSTE 250 managed to gain 10.5 points to close at 6805.5, the benchmark FTSE 100 dropped 2.3 points to end the day at 4884.2.

Lastminute.com, whose share price has already rocketed in recent days, added 2.75p to close at 170.25p; The Guardian states that this was due to “rumours that a counter bid will emerge”.
