let's hope his succesor has a more practical outlook and takes genuine steps, with Cuba, to come to terms with the USA and all its neighbours instead of constantly formenting trouble. And start to utilise its rivers of black gold more wisely.
That's not to say that Chavez was not inspired to help and lift the living standards of his people.But the extreme path he frequently chose, eg siding with the extreme Iranian fanatic Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was not always the best path to chose for the benefit of his people. And he stayed in power for far too long, a common defect in persons with dictatorial tendencies,as it does not allow for new ideas to blossom as he/she tends to be surrounded by 'yes' men/women.
