Looking at the past weeks' price action is too shortsighted, IMO. There are days when everything gets sold off.

If the price of gold remains high, many of the producers are going to start looking very, very good on their quarterly cashflow reports. Especially those with marginal costs - their earnings could potentially double or triple. This will change everything.
