An 'engineering to survive' philosophy is a great argument for what we are doing right now.

Burning coal and oil is damaging the planet's environment. The only planet we have.

Therefore, stopping the burning of those two is very important and urgent according to the real scientists.

Further to that , rather than wasting a valuable resource ( hydrocarbons ) by burning it once and wasting 2/3rds of it, we can preserve it for much better more sustainable uses.

Then there's the superior economics and consistent supply provided by renewables.

The sun and the wind will never go up in price and will never run out.

No longer will corrupt cartels and dictators control the world's energy supply. No longer will wars be fought over oil.

Countries all over the world including Australia have the potential to take their energy security levels to heights they have not had in a very long time. ln some cases to heights they have never had. Ever.

Renewables provide the opportunity for consumers to generate their own very cheap electricity for their homes and cars making them independent. No more gouging by energy companies.

Renewable energy provides the opportunity for remote locations to create their own energy without having to cart expensive diesel long distances.

Renewable energy is the ultimate engineering solution.
