If this guy is right or close to the ballpark figure, we will at best achieve couple of hundred thousand years of existence as species, or around 0.000001% of our living history as organisms (evolution included).

If the ability to survive is a guide, this make us substantially inferior species to the likes of australopithecines that managed to stay around for 5 million years.
