I'm not sure if this is an honest mistake or dishonest framing. They made $24m, they didn't "lose" anything - Net Loss is a term that refers to credit impairments, which was approximately 40 cents per share (not 0.4 cents per share) and is already factored into cash NPAT, as shown on page 10.
Sure, you can think of the normalised figures as bullshit, because its true that the picture they paint is not reality, but the true purpose of the normalised figures is that they're a helpful summary of the accounting that excludes one-offs, which is very convenient to know when you're reading a report with sizable one-offs. Nobody is expecting investors to pay so little attention to the financials that they actually believe HUM made 70m this year. But if you thoroughly read the financials the non-bullshit numbers are impressive enough on their own.
