The head of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission has committed to go overseas during the week his organisation is expected to face Senate hearings over its performance.
Greg Medcraft will visit Kuala Lumpur on February 19 for three days of meetings with the International Organisation of Securities Commissions, of which he is also chairman.
A Senate inquiry hearing into ASIC's performance is due to begin on February 17.

''Greg will attend the meeting. Greg has previously stressed the important role of IOSCO and what him being chair means for Australia,'' he said.
