Zoombie, I don't have a feed currently that allows me to plot XJO/SPI daily chart but hopefully someone will post one for me. The premium/discount cycle plotted on a daily chart can show market timing and can be used as a confirmation indicator of market moves.
Intraday the difference between the SPI and XJO stays pretty static so if it changes it can be used for a fade type trade. Definitely need to watch this for a while to get the "feel". Usually changes occur closer to the market close and like any trade it's not a 100% strategy. I haven't played in a quite a while so I have no idea if it's still something that would work regularly.
