    I suspect it is gilding the lily to say that "Sydney is in fact Australia's most affordable city". It is a big city so has more suburbs than others.......

    Interesting that the report defines cheap as a median price below $500k. I suspect someone on average full time earnings of about $60k with a non working partner would not consider $500k cheap.

    However, a few good points about how first home buyers want to buy park side and beach side areas and have to adjust expectations. Reality is that more and more people go to uni and get higher expectations, however most of the population lives in the Western suburbs (defined as West of Glebe by many LOL) and by definition must continue to live there unless you get massive high density development in the beach/park suburbs.

    Had a chuckle at the "goat breeders" reference - where did that come from?
