What normally happens is that once court proceedings have been initiated the court will try to push the parties into mediation. These will occur in private meeting rooms at a legal mediation firm.

If the parties can come to an agreement this will be presented to the court to be ratified by a judge. Hopefully this is what has happened as if it’s straight forward breach of contract with not much the offending entity can do but delay.

If the parties can’t come to an arrangement then it goes to formal court proceedings which then becomes quite expensive.
