For those that haven't seen anything by futurist Tony Seba this is as good a presentation as any to start with. Its got a few more gags than a couple of the others and is a pretty clear explaination of how he sees the energy and transport future of the world with good supporting arguments.

Even if his timeframes are not totally on the money and how this plays out varies slightly he is probably far closer to the money than most traditional economists. If you had tried to tell anyone 10 years ago that Tesla was going to be worth more than all the other US car manufactures combined within a decade they would have thought you were nuts.

If you have time well worth a watch. He predicts a world very soon with home battery storage (lithium) and all EV transport both ride share and private (lithium again) and he predicts it will be with us quicker than most realize.
