Mega, it is more likely that future systems will incorporate batteries into a smart grid rather than pumped hydro, as constant out put systems like wave will be able sustain the grid through peak periods then replenish the batteries during periods of low demand. These types of systems will also incorporate wind and solar into the energy mix but wave could be the cornerstone power provider.
