    I think those reasons are pretty thin as justifications for not concentrating on public transport.
    For accepting much smaller reductions in carbon pollution than we should.

    Especially as I hide my retriever in a back pack , while waiting for my driverless uber in the rain during peak hour.
    The last mile is important , but in reality , only for a small percentage of journeys.
    Driverless cars dont address many of those issues, and what you describe above doesn't justify lots of individual cars for people.

    So , I would contend , in a sense, of climate and resource utilisation , driverless cars are a bullshit argument for electric cars.
    Doesn't mean we shouldn't have them ,

    So for me , tax the hell out of everything bar public transport.
