An EVs main use is personal transport, for more than 90% of Australians they are really good for this purpose. A secondary benefit if its V2X compatible is the ability to provide backup power for the grid and/or home for relatively short periods. This may become more important in the future if someone's house or small business is on a continuously variable tariff and the spot prices spike for some reason, The EV battery maybe able to ease the economic pain and even take advantage of the situation there.
It could also be utilised as a big UPS in the case of momentary power supply interruptions or if the power network has a catastrophic failure or even just a bad blackout an EV could at least keep the fridge, lights and communications on for a few days while the problem is sorted.

You may not use it very often but it will still have to be serviced regularly to make sure the rats haven't made a nest in it and to ensure it is operational WHEN YOU NEED POWER but that maybe the best solution for you.
