IMO the Vic Government is on the right track by requiring
majority ownership of wind and solar in the state.
The renewables being smaller and more generators is a great
opportunity to "buy back the farm"
In the 1980s the floating of our AUD was dependant on the
privatisation of SOEs. Unfortunately some of our Generation
Plants were flogged to foreigners including the Chinese.
IMO its fair that if taxpayers funds are used to develop
Solar and Wind , that the taxpayer should have the major
equity stake in these projects . This is also a good reason why
we should not be going Nuclear because Nuke plants would
end up being foreign owned
So in summary, the electrification of our national fleet will
mean better Aussie equity in the system dealing out
multinational oil companies who have crueler us at the bowser
while paying minimal Aus corporate tax.
And the bonus is improved trade balances as the $50 Billion
P/A oil import bill is gradually phased out.
