While many of our commercial vehicles come from Thailand including
Toyotas & Mitsubishis , that's because the Japanese majors set up manufacturing there
before China got on its feet in auto manufacturing (FYI that was because auto manufacturing
featured in China's "Made in China 2025" & released in 2015).
Due to US crippling import tariffs being imposed this year by both the USA & EU
on Chinese EVs, China's leading EV manufacturers are now planning to manufacture in the EC
(Hungary & France) and in the USA . The big question is what %age of Chinese parts will be allowed
in these EVs? At present up to 20% of parts going into current US car manufacture is ex China
(Trump discovered that by exempting these parts from Trump Tariffs)
