Hi Puck, Just so you can avoid any more Emperor Nasi Goreng moments, the restriction on cars in the centre of Glasgow is not about global warming or heat sinks , it is about vehicle exhaust pollution in city centres not designed for cars. Principally nitrogen oxides , but also particulates and volatile organics. They have already banned diesel buses and the like. My venerable mitsibishi triton would , quite rightly , be shot at the boundary.
This , of course , favours EV's , but that is not the primary reason. Interestingly , the main early impetus for China ' s push into EV's was inner city car pollution.
So as desperate as some have been to add this sort of things to their list of culture wars whines , actually a reasonable public health measure.
