Hi Pinto,
I am presuming you are still in France.
Always fun to hear little anecdotes from there.
However , back to trains , electricity and freight.
Let's talk about France .
Anecdotal evidence is all very well , but it isn't a substitute for real evidence[ except perhaps in wackadoodle land].
French railways are about 55% electrified , and the vast proportion are for passengers.
About 9% of French freight goes by rail , and decreasing.
Not sure , but I don't think much of that goes by electric trains.
I note with interest your reference to our sparsely populated wide brown land , usually when that factor is mentioned on these threads , it produces howls of derision , as being irrelevant for one reason or another to the onward march towards battery electric nirvana.
Perhaps , the environment and what a vehicle is supposed to useful for , has some place in the discussion.
The cybertruck is a crock , a waste of resources , and suitable only for sitting on a podium as a tribute to man's folly.
cheers
