The extending of the Pommy deadline to ban new petrol & diesel
cars from 2030 to 2035 while disappointing for some Greenies,
nevertheless highlights what future Governments in the first world
will likely legislate over the next 5 years, IMO.
The ACT is the first State/Territory to have policy in place to
ban the sale of petrol and diesel cars (ICEs) by 2035; coincidentally
now similar to the UK.
IMO, those buying expensive petrol guzzlers should revisit the
economics of cost of life ownership because, IMO, once
legislation is firmed up, the ass will fall out of the secondhand
prices.
