I think we will more understand what transition is in a couple of decades when we look back.
It's always easier to see the story looking back than when peering forward and assuming
I would suspect that the entire EV story might change with a single invention or innovation many times in the next ? 20 or 30 years.
and of course, we're only talking EV's. The big mover may well be self drives - where things like range just won't matter. You may well be able to set off on a 2000 km trip in a 'car'.
A self drive which is hired - it turns up and off you go. When it's about to run out of power. It stops and you transfer into another one.
