PS: The bottom line is that one cant judge a market
that is heavily subsidised /regulated by free market
capitalistic yardsticks .....its a different beast.

Add to that, that EVs are not suitable for all at this stage
whether it be range, tax benefits , recharge convenience etc etc etc.

Take for example my local accountant who bought a $75K
    EV last year.

He got $6800 GST exemption right away as a GST offset
He got $6K Qld Gov subsity
    He got reduced rego
He got an extra 28% tax deductibility (Comm exemption from FBT)

So after one year his net cost is $50,500

Now suppose he sells the car at auction for $50K net his actual
depreciation is virtually nil but on a threorthical calculation the
depreciation is $25K or 33% of the retail price (Mudguts would like the latter...eh?)

A new EV fleet car salesperson can quickly bottom line the tax treatment,
Gov subsities and actual depreciation and offer an operating lease based on that.
