I have been talking to alot of people over the holidays about EVs generally and the biggest anxt among new car buyers seems to be the depreciation on ICE vehicles over the next 4-6 years vs that of EVs.
In my street there's about 40 or so 25-40 year olds, no kids , one dog and cars from 0-10 year old and the trend seems to follow that of the national stats......1 EV/1PHEV/4 HEVs in recent purchases.
We have 2 x EV charging points in our street which seem to be powered by solar & the charge cost from hearsay seems to be about $0.35c/KWh. One neighbour charges his BYD BEV for $20/400 kms which covers a week's travel.
IMO HEVs have virtually replaced diesel sedans with Toyota having the lions share of that market. That said, Toyota is finally into BEVs since the departure of its global CEO 2 years ago; the former one concentrated on HEVs/PHEVs .
