Happy with my low fuel guzzler - bear in mind, the govt gets about 50c for every litre of petrol and now due to a shortfall in revenue partly as a result of EV's and partly as many ICE vehicles have become more fuel efficient, EV owners may be also hit with an additional tax - (who would have thought):

    Excerpt:

The federal government is moving closer to introducing a national tax for drivers of electric vehicles (EVs), with Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers reportedly foreshadowing the change during a recent event with business leaders.

The expected tax aims to compensate for declining fuel excise revenues — the 50.6 cents per litre tax on petrol and diesel that funds roads and infrastructure.

Bear in mind that EV's in general are heavier than ICE vehicles hence can cause more road damage. EV owners may find they'll be coughing up more soon for owning an EV. Pay enough taxes already for my ICE 'freedom machine' - welcome EV owners who are not as immune as perhaps initially thought and it's still much quicker to fill my car then having to plug in and wait for hours.
