    I agree that ICE vehicles will be on the road for at least a decade, perhaps 2
    but as time goes by, their cost of ownership will increase because our
    Government is a signatory to the Paris Accord.

    The transition going forward will be complex from a Government point
    of view......how much carrot and how much stick and who pays and by
    what amount for transport infrastructure.

    At present petroleum imports are close to $50 Billion P/A and the Government
    taxes that at the rate of 46c + GST (about 17c/Ltr) per litre which is designated for roads and transport infrastructure

    IMO this amounts to more than the Comm Transport Budget:

    Mining, farming and some Heavy Transport operations are given concessions
