Due to the Government's objective of half new vehicles being sold in Aus to be EVs by 2030 , IMO, this will impact the resale/resaleability of ICE vehicles; particularly those with fuel consumption greater than 6 L/100 Kms
IMO we will ape Europe with regos based on CO2 emissions, not # of cyls In some EC countries rego on v8s can range up to 2500 Euros P/A while an ev can be 200.This has knocked the ass out of the price of big cars . IMO, that's where we'll be by 2030.
Don't assume that the Comm & State Governments will leave the cost of operating an ICE at the current rate whether that be Rego, petrol/diesel price etc; the respective Civil Services are very intelligent people who will devise a method of of carrot & stick in managing this transition to EVs.
That is happening overseas now.
Why do you think that its a ADR requirement to specify CO2 emissions on new cars for the past 10 years ?
